Along with many fascinating attractions, Thailand features a friendly people who best define Thailand as “Land of smiles” reputation. That is why the 2012 Convention Identity is reflected this unique culture of Thai people.
As exhibited in this Convention Identity, we’ve used Thai boy and girl dress in traditional style to welcome all our Rotarian delegates with Sawasdee’s gesture (A greeting gesture in Thailand) and surely with “Thai Smile” on their face.
“Smile” (pronounced “Yim” in Thai word) is the also the international language to express hospitality that lead to eternal friendship. This boy and girl have also got their name to extend our meaningful smile to welcome you with truly Thai hospitality for this coming 2012 Convention.
“Yim” is the boy’s name means “the action to express satisfaction or Smile”
“Yam” is the girl’s name means “to reveal or to discover”
In Thai, this above 2 words can be combined into one word “Yim-Yam” which means “Smile with high spirit”
